Ecliptic

Ecliptic

The Ecliptic sculpture in Napier. There's a plaque on the ground between the two trees on the right. If you stand at the plaque and look at the center of the sculpture you will see where the sun rose at the start of the Third Millennium.

"ECLIPTIC - artist David Trubridge
Placed here by the Napier City Council Millennium Sub Committee to mark the beginning of the Third Millennium.
To find the point where the sun rose at the start of the New Millennium, follow a line from this rock through the centre of the arch to the horizon."
